Some people have asked me what happen to the old gallery. It is still online. I have just been too lazy to learn Dreamscape and make more frequent posts. This is easier (and no pop-ups).
So for those of you who asked, here is the old site, sorry in advance for the pop-ups.
Enjoy.

Afterglow
9x12, pastel on paper
Another experiment in color, much like “The Apple Tree.” This photograph of a sunset at the Allegheny Reservoir allowed me to play with darker, more muted colors. It is also the first time that I tried painting a contrasting color as a base (notice the red in the sky). I am enjoying doing smaller and “quicker” paintings on my travel boards while I take my time with the larger pieces on my easel.

The Apple Tree
9x12, pastel on paper
I wanted to try something different and play around with color. But as always I learn more my inner thinking as I do my painting. In this one, the symbolism is defeaning. This succinctly summarizes a trend I have noticed in so many of my paintings. But the effect with the Unison’s worked better than I hoped. This one I am keeping for me.

A Final Goodbye
19x24, pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes
Sometimes my inspiration is personal; sometimes it just happens. This piece has a bit of both. I wonder why my subconscious mind chose to make the deviations from the photo reference it did. Then again, it is fitting. But to be perfectly honest, I am not completely happy with how this one turned out. I like it, just not completely happy.

Last Days of the Equine
19x24, pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes
This sat on my board as a charcoal sketch for over a year, the original reason for painting it no longer relevant. But one day finishing it became important, a way of saying good-bye to the past. The title is reflective of theses feelings but also, it is a wink and a nod to an old argument. In total, it is quite possibly the most satisfying piece I have ever done.

First Post
Wanted to start off simple just to see if this works. Will be putting up my first painting shortly.
